AC Milan – Juventus

AC Milan hosts Juventus at the San Siro in a crucial game from the 16th round of the Serie A. This is a very important match, so let’s take a look at it in this preview of ours. Are you ready?

AC Milan are performing in a sensational way so far as they are leading the Serie A standings in the beginning of the new year. The Rossoneri are currently having 37 points won which puts them one point ahead of their local rivals Inter Milan. Milan are the only unbeaten team in the Calcio after 15 games played – they have 11 wins and 4 draws.

Sadly for the manager Stefano Pioli Zlatan Ibrahimovic still can’t return to playing. The Swedish star is expected to return from an injury in the middle of this month. He won’t play against Juventus.

In their previous match Milan clinched another win. The Serie A leaders faced Benevento away from home and went home with a 2-0 win. Frank Kessie and Rafael Leao scored the two goals. Sandro Tonali got sent off in the first half though, so he won’t be avaliable against the champions.

The reigning Serie A champions Juventus are eager to return on top, but they have some work to do. Right now the Bianconeri are 5th in the Serie A standings 27 points which puts them exactly 10 points behind the leaders Milan. You can see why losing on Wednesday is not an option for Andrea Pirlo’s team.

On Sunday Juve showed their strenght, though. The Old Lady hosted Udinese and enjoyed a solid 4-1 win at the Allianz Stadium. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace while Federico Chiesa and Paulo Dybala scored as well.

That’s our preview for the Serie A derby game between AC Milan and Juventus at the San Siro. This is a chance for Milan to underline their Scudetto ambitions, while for Juve this is an opportunity to make a step in the right direction.
