Atletico Madrid – Granada

Atletico Madrid hosts Granada at the Wanda Metropolitano in a game from the third round of La Liga. For Los Colchoneros this is going to be a first game for the 2020/21 season. Let’s preview it in the next few minutes.

Because of their Champions League participation Atletico Madrid recieved a longer rest, so they are starting their season from the third round. Diego Simeone’s team is once again looking like a serious force in Spanish football, so we are sure Atletico won’t dissapoint the fans.

This week Atletico Madrid finished the signing of Luis Suarez, but it’s not clear if the Uruguayan star will play against Granada. He has been training with Barcelona in the last few weeks, but it’s only Diego Simeone who can decide if Suarez is going to play or not. One thing is for sure – Luis Suarez is an impressive signing and Atletico Madrid are looking even stronger now.

Granada kicked off their season in an impressive way. They are currently in a run of four consecutive wins in La Liga and Europa League. The club is currently leading the La Liga stands with 6 points from two matches played.

In the previous round Diego Martinez’ team hosted Deportivo Alaves at the Los Carmenes and scored a 2-1 win. The veteran Roberto Soldado opened the score for the hosts while Darwin Machis scored the winning goal in the 79th minute. It was not an easy win for Granada, but at the end they managed to take the three points.

During the week Granada had a game in Europa League and won again. The team faced Lokomotivi Tbilisi and recorded a 2-0 win at home. Machis and Jorge Molina scored for the Spanish side.
