Barcelona – Juventus
Another miracle. That’s what Barcelona needs in the second leg against Juventus in the Champions League 1/4-finals at the Camp Nou in the Catalan capital. After losing the first game in Turin with 0-3, Barcelona are up to a near impossible task – to overturn the tie against one of Europe’s best teams.
Well, you could say that it was the same situation before the match against PSG as well, but it’s difficult to compare Juventus’ and PSG’s experience in the competition. It’s hard to think that a nearly flawless team like Juve could allow to happen something similar to what happened during the game between Barca and PSG at the Camp Nou.
Juventus totally outperformed Barcelona during the first leg at the Juventus Stadium. It was a masterclass performance by Massimiliano Allegri’s team, which biggest goal remains winning the Champions League for a first time since more than 20 years.
As for Barcelona, the Catalans are showing us the existence of some serious problems in their team. Their inconsistency in La Liga most probably is going to cost them the title this season. The fact that they recieved totally 7 goals in their away games against PSG and Juventus and didn’t manage to score even once, is showing us that this team is just a shadow to the one that won the Champions League in 2015.
Inspired by the triumph against PSG, Barcelona will try to do something similar against Juve as well. This time it could be fatal if they concede an away goal, so Los Cules must be flawless in defense, if they want to eliminate the Italians. Juventus’ players on the other hand are aware that even one goal scored at the Camp Nou could kill the tie for good. Expect to see them looking for it, because they have enough offensive power to score anytime and anywhere.
