Barcelona – PSG
A miracle. That’s what Barcelona needs before hosting PSG in a Champions League 1/8-finals second leg at the legendary Camp Nou in the Catalan capital.
After losing the first game in Paris with 0-4, Barcelona’s chances of progressing to the 1/4-finals are as big as almost non-existent. But hey, this is football, so nobody should be completel written-off. Especially a team who possesses one of the best squads in the worlds as it is in Barcelona’s case. But still, it would be a really huge sensation if Barca go through after such a result in the first leg.
Luis Enrique’s team was completely dominated by PSG in the first leg. The French team surprised Barca with its high pressing and in same time the Catalans didn’t have its best day in terms of defending. Overally, it was a very bad day for the Spanish giants.
If Barcelona want to do the miracle at the Camp Nou, they need a perfect game. Not just in attack, but also in defense. If PSG score even one away goal, then the tie will be completely over.
Players like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta must be at the top of their game, but in same time Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti must be perfect as well. Because PSG will have their chances to score, there’s no doubt about that.
PSG’s Adrien Rabiot played a great game in Paris, but now the yound midfielder is doubtful for the second leg. If he’s unable to play, then most probably his place in the staring eleven will be taken by Grzegorz Krychowiak. Edinson Cavani will once again lead the attack for the away team, while Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler will attack from the midfield and the wings.
This is an uphill battle for Barcelona. Even if the Catalans play a great game in the Camp Nou, it’s going to be really difficult for them to qualify. And it’s going to be entirely their fault, after the shocking result in the first leg.
