Brann – Valerenga
The leader in the Norwegian Eliteserien Brann hosts Valerenga in a match from the 13th round of the league. Let’s have a look.
Brann are leading the table with 30 points won so far and 6 points advantage in front of the current champion Rosenborg. Right now Brann are the only unbeaten team in the Norwegian league, having a record of 9 wins and 3 draws.
Last year Brann finished 5th in the Eliteserien, so now they are motivated to do better, being hungry for some success. They made some positive changes in the summer and prepared well for the new season, which can be seen by everyone at this moment.
In their last five games Brann won three times and made two draws. In the last round the team from Bergen celebrated a crucial 2-1 win during the visit to Rosenborg. Alexander Soderlund gave advantage to the champions, but goals from Fredrik Haugen and Peter Larsen sent the three points to Bergen. It was a very important win for Brann, because in this way they underlined their ambition to become champion.
Valerenga on the other hand are 6th in the Eliteserien standings with 21 points. They have a record of 6 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats since the beginning of the season. In their last five matches Valerenga enjoyed three wins, made one draw and suffered just one defeat – against Tromso away from home.
In the previous round Valerenga celebrated a 1-0 win over Lillestrom at home. Bard Finne scored the only goal in the game, doing it in the last few seconds of the match. It was truly heartbraking for the away team, but in same time it was a great joy for Valerenga.
