Chelsea – Liverpool

It’s time for the first great Premier League derby for the 2020/21 season because on Sunday Chelsea hosts Liverpool at the Stamford Bridge. Two contenders for the title are going head to head, so let’s preview it right now.

It’s not a secret Chelsea are now thinking of the Premier League title after making some great signings during the pre-season. The club signed contracts with players such as Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell which is an incredibly big boost for the team. Now the manager Frank Lampard has everything he needs in order to chase the top.

Chelsea already started with a win their season. The Blues paid a visit to Brighton & Hove Albion at the American Express and recorded a 3-1 win in their first game. Jorginho scored from a penalty kick Chelsea’s first goal for the season while Reece James and Kurt Zouma followed with goals. Timo Werner and Kai Havertz made their debuts, but they didn’t score.

Liverpool had a breathtaking first game for the new season. The Reds hosted the newcomers Leeds United and needed four goals in order to win. The match at the Anfield ended with a 4-3 win for the champion. Mohamed Salah scored a hattrick and turned out to be Liverpool’s hero, while Virgil van Dijk scored one for the Reds as well.

It’s never good when you concede three goals at home. There were a lot of reasons why Jurgen Klopp was not happy with his team’s performance. But at the end Liverpool won and that’s the most important thing.

We expect to see some goals between Chelsea and Liverpool on Sunday. There are some fine strikers in both teams, so maybe we will see another spectacle. Both teams are looking for a second win since the start of the season as well. Which one is going to get it?
