Chesterfield – Notts County
Chesterfield are having serious problems this season. They are currently 23th in the standings, trailing on 6 points behind Grimsby Town and the safe zone. Right now Chesterfield have just 31 points won and a record of 9 wins, 10 draws and 19 defeats. In their last five matches they won just once, suffered three defeats and made one draw.
Judging by their performance at the moment, it’d be very difficult for Chesterfield to survive and avoid relegation to the National League. They are in a really complicated situation at the moment and they are not helping themselves.
And now Chesterfield will have a tough test against Notts County – one of the strongest teams in the League Two at the moment.
Led by the playing manager and ex-Premier League player Kevin Nolan, Notts County are currently 4th in the League Two. They are currently fighting for a place in the League One and they are in a good position to attack it.
Right now Notts County have 66 points won and a record of 18 wins, 12 draws and 8 defeats. They are on just three points behind the 3rd Wycombe Wandereres and the direct promotion.
In their last five matches Notts County lost just once – against Cambridge United, winning twice and doing two draws.
Led by veteran players like the manager Kevin Nolan, Shola Ameobi and Alan Smith, Notts County are mixing youth with precious experience. So far this formula is working just fine for them.
It’d be hard for Chesterfield to win something against Notts County. The away team have much more quality and the two teams’ positions in the standings are proving it.
