Eintracht Frankfurt – Bayern Munich
Eintracht Frankfurt hosts the champion and current leader Bayern Munich in a match from the 22th round of the Bundesliga. We expect some great football here, so let’s take a preview for what we expect at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Eintracht Frankfurt are having a solid improvement compared to the previous season. At this moment Adi Hutter’s team is third in the Bundesliga standings with 39 points and dreaming of reaching the Champions League. What’s even more impressive is the fact that Eintracht are enjoying a run of four consecutive wins in the league – something they were unable to do last season.
The club’s board clearly took the right decision to trust Adi Hutter after the dissapointing 2019/20 season. Now Eintracht are one of the strongest contenders for a qualification to the Champions League. They are proving it with their results, especially after the winter break.
Bayern Munich are arriving in Frankfurt as favourites, though. The champions are leaders in the standings with 49 points which puts them five points ahead of the second RB Leipzig. Hansi Flick’s team have lost just two matches since the beginning of the season.
In the previous round Bayern surprisingly lost points against Arminia Bielefeld at home. The game at the Allianz Arena ended with an exciting 3-3 draw. Robert Lewandowski, Corentin Tolisso and Alphonso Davies scored for the Bavarians, but shockingly these three goals were not enough for the win. Bayern Munich rarely concede three goals in one game, but that’s exactly what happened against Arminia.
This is a very interesting game between Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich. The hosts are in a great shape, while Bayern had a problematic performance against Arminia in their last game. This gives Eintracht some bigger hopes for a win against the current champion and this is not unrealistic at all – the Frankfurt side is in a good shape at the moment.
