Monaco – PSG

While leading a fierce battle for the title in the French Ligue 1, now Monaco and PSG will go head to head for one more trophy – the Coupe de la Ligue. The final between the two teams is going to be played at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

Monaco reached the final of the competition, after eliminating Nancy in the 1/2-finals. In same time PSG scored four goals against Bordeaux and now Unai Emery will have the chance to win his second trophy with the Parisians.

There’s no doubt that Monaco and PSG are the strongest teams in France at the moment. Monaco are currently leading the standings in the Ligue 1, having a three point advantage in front of PSG. In same time they also reached the Champions League 1/4-finals, after eliminating Manchester City.

As for PSG, after being humilated by Barcelona in the Champions League, now Unai Emery’s team do not have any other options, except of winning all domestic trophies the team plays for. The Spanish manager could lose his job in Paris, if he doesn’t finish the season on a high note.

We will see the team with the deadliest attack in France against the team with the strongest defense. Leonardo Jardim’s Monaco have scored 87 goals in Ligue 1 so far, which is a really spectacular achievement. In same time PSG have conceded just 21 goals in 30 matches, so this is another reason to expect this game with a high interest.

For the last time Monaco and PSG met in January, when their game at the Parc des Princes in Paris ended with a 1-1 draw. Edinson Cavani scored for PSG after e penalty kick, but Bernardo Silva saved a point for Monaco in the injury time of the game.
