Monchengladbach – Bayer Leverkusen

Borussia M’gladbach welcomes Bayer Leverkusen in the opening round of the German Bundesliga. It’s time for one of the most exciting European league to start once again.

For Borussia M’gladbach the last season was pretty average for their own standards. Just two years ago they were part of the Champions League, so it was dissapointing for them to finish in the middle of the table in a season to forget. Surely this club have bigger potential than this and now their goal is going to be at least a finish in the Top 6 and return to the Champions League or Europa League. They have done it in the past, so they know how to to do it.

On the transfer market Borussia M’gladbach paid some serious cash for the French striker Alassane Plea. The club paid more than 20 million euro to Nice for the services of Plea, who shall turn into one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga this season. He already showed his class in the French Ligue 1, but in the Bundesliga it could be a little bit harder for him. It remains to wait and see what he can show with the ball.

M’gladbach also signed the Danish defender Andreas Poulsen, the Swiss right back Michael Lang and Tottenham Hotspur’s youngster Keanan Bennetts. These are some interesting transfers for the German club.

Bayer Leverkusen missed on a Champions League participance last season, so now they will try to move at least one position up in the standings.

On the market Leverkusen paid some serious money for Vasco Da Gama’s Brazilian talent Paulinho and Hertha’s defender Mitchell Weiser. They shall make the team stronger for the new campaign.
