Napoli hosts Sassuolo

Napoli hosts Sassuolo at the San Paolo in a game from the 36th round of the Italian Serie A. Let’s take a preview of this game in these next few paragraphs.

Napoli fell back to 7th place after surprisingly losing their last match in the Serie A. The Azzurri suffered their 11th defeat for the season when they visited Parma at the Ennio Tardini. Parma looked to be in a terrible shape before this game, but they managed to bounce back and won the game with 2-1. Lorenzo Insigne scored for Napoli from a penalty kick, but the hosts were a little bit better on this day.

The manager Gennaro Gattuso was not happy with his team’s performance. Napoli were favourites against Parma, but maybe the players underrestimated the opponent. Now they must try to avoid doing the same on Saturday, too.

Napoli are now three points behind the 6th AC Milan. They still have chances for the Top 6, but it depends on their performance in the remainng three rounds.

Sassuolo are just one position behind Napoli in the standings, being 8th with 48 points. We could say it was just another successful season for the Neroverdi. They remain a Serie A team and not just that – they are a Top 10 Serie A team.

Sassuolo are without a win in their last three games, though. In the previous round the Neroverdi suffered a defeat. Roberto De Zerbi’s team hosted Milan at home, but played the entire second half with a man less on the pitch and lost 1-2. Francesco Caputo scored for Sassuolo, but Mehdi Bourabia got sent off in the last seconds of the first half. This made the hosts’ job really difficult.

We expect some kind of response from Napoli against Sassuolo. The Azzurri lost their last game in the Serie A, so for them it’s a moment to shine again.
