Newcastle United – Tottenham Hotspur
Are you ready to take a visit to the St. James’ Park in Newcastle? On Wednesday Newcastle United will host Tottenham Hotspur in a fixture from the 36th round of the Premier League. Let’s preview it in the next few paragraphs.
Being 13th in the league with 43 points won, Newcastle United are probably thinking more of the possibility of having a new owner very soon. There are rumours that the club is going to be bought by some rich men from the Middle East, which could make them one of the best teams in England.
But let’s concentrate on what’s happening with Newcastle in the Premier League so far. The manager Steve Bruce and his players successfully reached their main goal which was just to survive. The club secured its place in the Premier League for the next season as well and this is a massive success.
Newcastle lost their last two matches in the league, though. Steve Bruce’s team lost against Manchester City and Watford, not managing to show their true qualities on the pitch.
Tottenham Hotspur moved to 8th place in the league thanks to their 2-1 win over Arsenal in the big derby of Northern London. Jose Mourinho’s team was behind, but goals from Son Heung-Min and Toby Alderweireld secured them the three points. This is a really difficult season for Spurs, but beating Arsenal is always giving the fans some special feeling of pleasure.
Tottenham Hotspur are just two points behind the 7th Sheffield United in the league standings, so that’s a big motivation for them to secure the win against Newcastle United. Tottenham are also just three points behind the 6th Wolverhampton Wanderers, so they have the chance to finish the campaign much better.
We believe that Tottenham Hotspur are going to be a little bit more motivated than Newcaste United on Wednesday. Spurs will try to take the 6th place in the standings, so they need the three points here.
