Sassuolo – Roma

Sassuolo welcomes Roma at the MAPEI Stadium in a game from the 22th round of the Serie A.

That’s a pretty much average season for Sassuolo so far. The team is 15th in the league with 23 points won so far, but the good news is that Sassuolo are 8 points ahead of the 18th SPAL and the relegation zone. What they can do now is keep this gap and be calm about their future in the Serie A.

Sassuolo could work on their current shape, though. The Neroverdi won just one of their last five games in the Calcio, but in same time they are undefeated in their last two matches, which is a good sign.

Last week Sassuolo visited Sampdoria at the Luigi Ferraris and went home with a point after a 0-0 draw.

Roma are 4th in the Serie A with 39 points after 21 games played. For the Wolves there’s no time to rest, though, because the 5th Atalanta are just one point behind them. A negative result at the MAPEI Stadium on Saturday could send them out of the Top 4 this weekend.

Last week Roma had another capital derby against Lazio at the Olimpico. Facing an opponent which was in a run of 10 consecutive wins in the league, Roma won a point after a 1-1 draw. Edin Dzeko opened the score for Roma, but Francesco Acerbi equalised for Lazio. In the second half there were no goals scored.

Roma’s main goal for the season is finishing in the Top 4 and reaching the Champions League, but the competition for this is pretty big. What Roma need is a consistency, so let’s see how they will do on Saturday.

That’s our short preview for the Serie A game between Sassuolo and Roma on the first day of the weekend. Can the Wolves do the job here? Let’s see.
