Spain – Portugal
Spain hosts Portugal in Sevilla in one of the best games in the Nations League next week. It’s always a spectacle when these two teams meet each other. Let’s preview it in these soccer tips today.
These two teams are arguably the favorites to win the first place in League A’s Group 2. Now La Roja has the advantage to play at home and get an early lead in the standings. Spain reached the Nations League’s final in the previous edition of the competition, but suffered a defeat against France.
The head coach Luis Enrique took some interesting decisions regarding his selection for the upcoming games. He called Espanyol’s striker Raul de Tomas who has just two games for the national team so far. Meanwhile Enrique once again picked Barcelona’s Gavi who is just 17-years old, but already making some waves. Ansu Fati is also making his comeback to the team after recovering from a bad injury.
Portugal are the first ever winner in the Nations League, but now Selecao are hungry for more. They will try to make a positive start on Saturday despite playing away from home.
Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the team again, but he’s not the only player to watch in the Portuguese side. Liverpool’s Diogo Jota will get a break after the Champions League final, but AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and RB Leipzig’s Andre Silva can cause some trouble in attack. At the same time Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes will be tasked to spark some creativity in midfield. Porto’s Pepe was called again in defense despite being 39-years old already.
That’s the soccer tips today for the Nations League derby game between Spain and Portugal. We can expect everything from this match because both teams are great. Let’s see who will perform better, though.
