Tubize – Westerlo
Tubize hosts Westerlo in a match from the closing stage of the Belgian First Division B. The game is going to be played at the Stade Leburton in Tubize on Sunday afternoon.
Both teams are very close to each other in the league at this moment – it’s just 2 points that separate them. Tubize are 6th with 6 points (1 win, 3 draws and 1 loss), while Westerlo are 7th with 4 points won so far (1 win, 1 draw and 4 losses).
Tubize started their participation in closing stage of First Division B with a loss against Lierse, before making three draws in a row. In the last round they finally enjoyed their first win during this stage, celebrating a 2-1 win over SV Roeselare away from home. Marco Weymans and Salomon Nirisarike scored the winning goals, which were enough for Tubize to clinch the win.
Westerlo on the other hand suffered three defeats since the beginning of the stage – against SV Roeselare, Lierse and Cercle Brugge. Their only win was achieved against OH Leuven – 1-0 at home with a winning goal from Jens Naessens. In their last game Westerlo made a good game against the leader Cercle Brugge at home, but they still lost with a 2-3 result. Christian Osaguona and Maxime Annys scored for the home team, but it was not enough for something more in the game.
It’s safe to say that for both teams it would be very difficult to reach the promotion play-off. They already lost too much points to think about it and they realize it very well. But still, they could end their campaigns on a high note, winning as much games as possible. Let’s see what they can do against each other on Sunday afternoon. It shall be interesting.
