West Ham had a very tough start of the season, conceding four consecutive losses. With time the Hammers started to stabilze and began to win some points, but in the previous round West Ham lost again – against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Before their loss in Brighton, West Ham enjoyed three consecutive games with positive results – two wins and one draw. With a manager like Pellegrini and some of the additions they made to their squad, the Hammers shall be much better than what they showed so far.

But now it won’t be easy for them against a team like Tottenham.

Tottenham are 5th in the Premier League standings, being on par with the 4th Arsenal, but having a worse goal difference. Right now Spurs have 18 points and a record of 6 wins and 2 defeats. After two losses in a row, which Mauricio Pochettino’s team conceded, Tottenham enjoyed three consecutive wins against Brighton & Hove Albion, Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City.

Eric Dier scored the only goal for the 1-0 win against Cardiff in the previous round. Pochettino started with Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son in his starting line-up, but he needed a goal from his holding midfielder in order to win this one. But who knows – maybe Kane and the other forwards will do better in the next game?
